Allseas Pioneering Spirit

The Pioneering Spirit was built by the Swiss-Dutch offshore company Allseas.

With a length of 382m and a width of 124m, this vessel will be the largest in the world. The vessel is intended to install and dismantle large offshore platforms.

The Pioneering Spirit will be able to lift and transport large platforms of around 48,000 tonnes from their bases in one go, instead of in small pieces as is currently the case.

The vessel will also be able to lay pipelines with diameters of 6 to 68 inches for oil and gas transport at a depth of up to around 4,000m, and this at a record speed of more than seven kilometres per day.
